How often do you let your mind decide how your life should be instead of you deciding how your life will be? Your minds job is to think and it does a good job, it thinks all the time! It has a lot of old tapes running on auto pilot too. Whatever negative thoughts or beliefs you adopted about yourself from outside influences, whether you know about them or not, are running “behind the scenes” unless you remove the old tapes and replace them with an upgrade.
How do you know if you have an old tape running that does not serve you? Look at your life! What area in your life are you still struggling with? Where do you feel stuck? Often you know something is holding you back, but you can’t put your finger on it.
If there is an area in your life that is not as you wish it to be, then you have an old tape running. It may sound like “I’m not capable, I’m not worthy, or I’m not good enough” when it comes to that area, whether its money, career, health, or relationships. You have to change the tape!
If you saw the movie “What The Bleep Do We Know”, then you may remember Dr. Joe Dispenza. (If you haven’t seen the movie I highly recommend it!) In the movie Dr. Joe starts the conversation about how we can re-train our minds to create more of what we want and less of what we don’t want. At a personal development conference I attended where he spoke, I got to hear much more of the conversation from Dr. Joe himself about how our minds work and how we can use this awareness to form new thought pathways that better serve us and get rid of those that don’t! And, it’s really simple!
Now simple doesn’t mean easy, at least at first. It takes consistent, persistent practice, but all you need to really do is first become fully aware of your old thought patterns (tapes). One way you can do this is by paying attention to your feelings. If you find yourself feeling anxious, nervous, fearful, angry or frustrated about an area of your life or even your whole life, which is what happens when one area spills over and affects all the others, most likely you are thinking thoughts that are not in alignment with your higher self. The thing you need to do as soon as you notice these feelings is to change the thoughts associated with them into a thought that will give you some kind of relief from those feelings.
When you notice the old tape and what it is saying, say to yourself “cancel, cancel” and say a more affirming thought that generates feelings of peace, joy, hope, love, even acceptance instead.
When you consciously begin to create new thoughts, new neurons appear in your brain that create a new pathway and a new connection. Then every time you practice replacing the old thought with the new thought, the connection grows stronger and stronger and the old “thought connection” weakens and disappears! That’s how you replace the old tapes with new tapes! By doing this, your new beliefs create better thoughts, feelings, and actions resulting in an upgraded life! And it works!
Now, I know I am not explaining this in the exact technical terms a scientist like Joe would use, but I think you get what I am describing here. At the conference, we were shown actual video of this happening in the brain and I was blown away! What all this means to you and I is if there is a change you desire in your life such as more money, better relationships, or better health, you can take what you begin to recognize as “wrong thinking” and change it, you can create new thoughts and repeat them often with feeling, you can create vision boards or videos, you can do whatever it takes to bombard your brain with the change you wish to see.
As you strengthen the connection of your new improved thoughts, you actually change the vibrational energy of those thoughts and as they travel out into the quantum field of all possibility, and you attract more of what you want!
