How To Have an Exceptionally Great Day!

I am having an exceptionally great day today!  How about you? Have you ever just decided to have an exceptionally great day? When I first heard about this, I resisted it. Of course my habitual, automatic thought habits got in the way. They told me “Who am I to expect and exceptional day?” Maybe when you first read this, you felt some resistance too. Maybe your habitual thought habits reacted with “You should expect the worst so you won’t be disappointed.” Maybe your training from your families and society taught you to do what your elders have done… be careful, be safe, and expect things to go wrong!

But, what if you did make an effort to expect to have an exceptional day? You have so much power when you use your expectations to anticipate having an exceptional day.  For a long time I didn’t know I had this power.  I did not wake up happy. I would go to bed worried and concerned about what was going on in my life and as a result, would I wake up with the lingering effects of this kind of thinking.  When we are falling asleep, and just waking up, we are in an alpha brain wave state, which is a very receptive state. I was using that brain wave power destructively, when I could have been using it constructively.   

When we automatically anticipate having a challenging day, we are using the same power we have to anticipate an exceptional day.  So why not use this same power to your advantage?  

Imagine having an exceptional day because you decided to, planned for it, expected it, and acted “as if” it were coming your way.  Wow, that would create an incredible day full of joy and gratitude, not to mention a day of wonderful surprises!

Here’s a fundamental truth, expectations direct our energy, and, therefore, our outcomes. The Law of Expectation is a Universal Law that tells us that whatever one expects, with confidence, becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. When one expects with confidence that good things will happen, they usually will. If, on the other hand, one expects a negative outcome to a situation, then the outcome will usually be negative.

Our expectations play a key role in our own outcomes and they also have a remarkable effect on the people around us. What we expect from those around us determines our attitude toward them more than any other factor. In turn, the people around us tend to reflect our attitudes right back at us – whether the expectations and attitudes are positive or negative, good or bad

Let’s say that you are accustomed to expecting the worst to happen, or that you tend to plan for things to go wrong so that you will be “prepared” for whatever happens.  How hard would it be to change these habitual thought habits?  I invite you to try expecting an exceptional day today, tomorrow, and the next day!  Just enjoy making plans for an exceptional day and feel your energy begin to shift!

The question I invite you to ask yourself is: Why are you still anticipating or expecting a bad day instead of an exceptional day or even your “best” day ever?  

The answer to this question will help you become aware of your perceived downside to expecting an exceptional day, (which is the same as the upside of expecting the worst), and wake you up to a new perspective. The perspective that there is an alternative available! That there may be benefits to expecting an exceptional day! I have personally discovered there are many benefits of expecting an exceptional day…now its your turn! 

Expect and plan for an exceptionally happy day starting now!  Do it as an experiment for the next 7 days. Raise your vibration by choosing to expect an exceptional day at night before going to sleep and in the morning as soon as you awake and watch the Universe join your efforts to succeed in making it happen!
